Your Course Instructors:

Ustadh Alomgir Ali

Ustadh Alomgir Ali is a graduate of Islamic Law (BA) from the University of al Azhar al Sharif (Cairo, Egypt) and also holds a BA in Arabic and English Language. He possesses a number of Ijāzahs (licenses) including for the Qur’ān and has authored and translated a number of books including “Meadows of the Divine: 40 Ḥadīth on the Virtues and Rulings of the Qur’ān” published by Fig Tree Publications. He has been teaching Arabic and Islamic disciplines for over 12 years in various different educational institutes and has worked as an Imām in London and has delivered sermons and lectures in the UK and Europe. You can mainly listen to his lectures here. In a world of “fast food knowledge”, he founded Tawfīq Online to provide students an accessible, affordable and steady measured paced method of learning in tafsir, hadith, fiqh and suluk.

Ustadh Jamal Abdinasir

Ustadh Jamal Abdinasir Hassan was born and raised in the UK, the country in which he also completed the memorisation of the Qur’ān by the age of 13.

Ustadh Jamal began studying under the tutelage of Sheikh AbdirRashid Ali Sufi in 2010 and continues to study with him today. He currently holds Ijāzah in the Ten minor Qirā’āt from the Sheikh. The Ustadh has also studied under Sheikh Shoieb, Dean of Imām Jazarī Institute, with whom he also continues to study.

Ustadh Jamal plays a pivotal role in Qur’ānic Da’wah in the West providing various courses and programmes in the UK. Ustadh Jamal has also completed sciences in the Arabic Language and various studies in Ulūm al-Qur’ān

How much is the registration fee?

The registration fee is £10.

How long is the event?

10am-6.30pm with a break in between.

Are they any age restrictions?

Yes, as this is a course aimed at adults and will involve concentrating for several hours we would recommend all those attending should be 10 years+ at a minimum.

How can I get there?

Underground: The centre is only a short walk from either Aldgate East or Whitechapel underground stations. Both stations are on the District and Hammersmith and City Line.

Buses: several bus services stop close by on Whitechapel Road (A11): 25, 205, 254. Buses also stop a short distance away on Commercial Road (A13): 15, 115, 135; and on New Road: D3.

Is there any parking available?

There is no visitor parking at the centre, and roadside parking is extremely limited, so travelling by car is not advised. Transport for London (TfL) have summarised information about driving in London here, and information

Will food be provided?

Water will be provided and light refreshments will be available for purchase. However, there are plenty of halal options around LMC which you can visit during the given lunch break.

Is there a crèche facility?

There is no crèche facility provided.

Is there a prayer facility?

Yes, both women and men can pray in East London Mosque.

Will there be breaks for prayer?

Yes, there will be breaks for prayer times.

Will the event be segregated?

Yes, the hall will either be partitioned down the middle, or men will be seated at the front of the hall with a barrier. Both genders will be able to see the speaker.

Will there be an opportunity for Q&A?

Yes, there will be allocated time for a Q&A.

Will course notes be provided?

Yes, course notes will be provided and all attendees will receive a HHUGS pen.
