The Prophet of Allah (sallaAllaahu alayhi Wasallam) said “None of you will truly believe until you love for your brother what you love for yourself”. (narrated by Bukhari)
A week of Ramadan has passed us already. Have you managed to do all that you can in that week? Please remember HHUGS (Helping Households Under Great Stress) this Ramadan and help make this Ramadan a special one for our beneficiaries and families as you desire for your own.
The Prophet of Allaah (sallaAllaahu alayhi wasallam) said: “The most beloved of people to Allaah are those who are of most benefit [to others]. The most beloved of actions to Allaah, ‘azza wa jalla, is when you make another Muslim happy, removing a hardship that has befallen him, paying off a debt of his or ridding him of hunger. It is more beloved to me indeed that I walk with my Muslim brother to see to a need of his than performing i’tikaaf (secluding oneself) in a Masjid for a month.” [At-Tabaraanee/Al-kabeer, 3/209/2, As-Silsilah As-Saheehah, 906]
The Families Are Depending On Your Support!
How Can I Help HHUGS this Ramadan?
1. Set up a Standing order and make a regular monthly contribution.
No amount is too small! The most beloved charity to Allah is that which is continuous even if it is small. Fill in a form today and post it to us and we’ll do the rest. http://www.hhugs.org.uk/standing-order
2. Make a donation. Either online or by sending us a cheque.
The best acts of charity are during the blessed month of Ramadan where your deeds are multiplied. http://www.hhugs.org.uk/donate
3. Become a HHUGS Volunteer. By filling in an online application form or by phoning us.
Volunteer and help us this Ramadan- from distributing flyers, helping out at events to working directly with the families. http://www.hhugs.org.uk/volunteer
4. Write to our families, send Eid Gifts and write to our beneficiaries.
If there is a particular family you want to get a hold of or you simply want to put a smile on someone’s face this Ramadan then InshaAllah this will be a form of charity for you. Send us your letters of support and we’ll pass it on to them. Email: support@hhugs.org.uk. With Eid only three weeks away, we encourage you to donate generously.
Our beneficiaries would also appreciate a thought this Ramadan, send them your Ramadan or Eid cards– addresses can found here on the UK Prisoners List http://www.helptheprisoners.org/prisoners/uklist.pdf
5. Raise awareness in your local community and fundraise for HHUGS.
Be part of our team and help us to bring HHUGS to the people. Help us raise awareness about the work we do. Arrange to have Iftars, events or small gatherings to fundraise for HHUGS this Ramadan and we will support you all the way
6. Approach your local Majid or community centre about giving HHUGS a collection, an opportunity to fundraise and build links.
7. Dua
Please remember our cause and the beneficiaries in your duas while you are fasting, that Allah lifts any hardships from them and that the Anti-Terror Legislations are removed from British Law.
