We would like to extend Eid greetings on behalf of all the beneficiaries we support, the trustees, staff and volunteers at HHUGS, we wish a warm and joyous Eid Mubarak to you and your family!
TaqabbalAllahu minna wa minkum. As Eid ul Adha marks the peak of Hajj as millions gather from all over the world in Makkah, we ask Allah to accept our sacrifices, fasting, charity and efforts during these blessed 10 days of Dhul Hijjah, wherever in the world we may be.
Thanks to your inspirational support and kind donations this Dhul Hijjah, we are able to provide 148 families and 580 individuals, with Qurbani meat this Eid.
“My mother would get meat on Eid. These small acts become a rope for us to hold onto. If I could say anything about this charity I would say that this charity reminds me of the kinds of sacrifice made by the Sahaba for each other.”
Due to your generosity, the burdens of our sisters, following in the footsteps of Hajar today have been lightened.. You have helped to alleviate their debts, clear their bills and put food on their table.
Thanks to you, we have brightened the faces of our sisters and children with gifts and surprises during this joyful time of the year. Thanks to you, they have been united with their loved ones on this blessed day. Thanks to you, they’ve been reminded that they are not alone and sharing together with the community, in the happiness of this day.
“Every Eid, there is a party. These gatherings and parties are nice because you get together with other families, it makes you realise it’s not only you going through that struggle; that there are other mothers and wives enduring what I’m enduring. They support each other. It makes me feel like I’m not alone.”
May it be a means to attain His love, and may He raise us with His Beloveds on the Day of Resurrection, His Khaleel, Ibrahim (as) and Hajar (ra). Ameen.
“The meat and cakes on Eid; it wasn’t something I was expecting –the support and the care you have given to people like me, it means a lot. Even seeing texts from my keyworker, I appreciate it, knowing that somebody is out there, thinking about me.”
We pray that even if we were unable to reach the House this year, that we are amongst those who reached the Lord of the House and attained His pleasure; even if we could not physically stand on the plains of Arafah, that we are amongst those freed from the Fire that day; even if we could not physically slaughter in Mina, that we will be recorded amongst those who slaughtered our desires for His sake.
Ameen.
