TaqabbalAllahu minna wa minkum. May Allah (swt) accept our fasting, sacrifice, charity, and good deeds during the best 10 days.

On behalf of all our beneficiaries, volunteers, staff and trustees, HHUGS wishes you and your loved ones a blessed Eid, filled with mercy, joy and warmth.

This Dhul Hijjah has been different to any other.  Muslims from around the world have been unable to gather to perform Hajj.  Even now, during Eid, we still face some restrictions on social gatherings and leisure activities, limiting how we can celebrate our day. However, amidst the uncertainty and rapid change, one thing remained constant.  This constant has ensured this Eid remained a source of joy. And that constant has been your generosity.

We thank you wholeheartedly, for supporting our families through the 10 days of Dhul Hijjah. Many of us face financial instability and uncertainty, however you still dug deep to support others who are on the brink. Due to your unwavering support, families can now feed their children, experience the joy and relief this Eid. By choosing to do your Qurbani with HHUGS, you have blessed those closest to you with meat, a rarity for some of our families.

“We are a large family of seven and very rarely eat meat, maybe a handful of times in a year as it is very expensive and unaffordable for us to eat. So to be able to enjoy some lamb on Eid was a rare pleasure for the entire family. May Allah bless all those that contributed to make that happen and grant them al-Firdaws.”

We pray that Allah (SWT) accepts your Qurbani and rewards both you and your family in this life and the next.

This Dhul Hijjah, beside gifting our families with your Qurbani and Eid gifts, you have also supported the Hajars of today and protected vulnerable children.

You have saved families from eviction and helped them stay in their own home on Eid.  Your donations will help to provide mentors for children, giving them hope of a better life. You have lifted the burden that weighed heavy on the shoulders of single mothers by alleviating their debt and finally your donations will go on to heal and empower the Hajars of today with the gift of independence.

Although you may not dwell too much on the charity you give, often forgetting about it after you have made a donation, we would like to remind you that every penny and pound has a profound impact.

“Alhamdulilah, HHUGS have been a real family for me and my son as we are alone without our family. Every time we received something from you, my son and I have been really happy and thankful. It has been really lovely to see that you thought about us.”

Finally, you have taught these children how to smile again, many whom had forgotten how to, by providing them with Eid gifts. We may not have been able to delight them with an Eid party this year due to the pandemic, but for one day, they can be taste the joy of Eid and do not feel alone.

“We always felt very happy and especially not forgotten when receiving Eid gifts. I am particularly grateful to HHUGS for giving my children this joy at these special moments when we feel the separation from our father and husband more than any other time. We forget our loneliness when we receive these gifts.”

Even though. we have been unable to perform Hajj this year, we pray Allah (swt) accepts your generosity, and blesses you and your family with an Eid like no other.
