In this blessed month, we are strongly encouraged to give back to those who need it the most.  I'm one of a blessed group of competitors striving to raise £5,000 for HHUGS families, right here in the UK.

It’s not just the chair at the table that remains empty when a father is taken away from his household. Life, as they once knew it, is hollowed out entirely, their plates are half full, but their hearts entirely empty.

Our emphasis this year is on single mothers. For some, Ramadhan can be an extremely unsettling time for vulnerable and isolated families, being unable to provide for their children takes a huge toll on them emotionally. We often take for granted the privilege we have spending this month with families who can provide and look after us. By providing financial support to a family who is struggling to make ends meet can make a massive difference.

The goal of this fundraiser is to be able to provide for two single mothers with your contributions.

It’s not just the food that doesn’t taste the same, but a father's vacant place in the family leaves less to savour.

 Empty chairs don’t need to mean empty hearts. This month, you can fill not only their empty plates, but the void in their broken hearts.

"They ask you (O Muhammad) what they should spend in charity. Say: 'Whatever you spend with a good heart, give it to parents, relatives, orphans, the helpless, and travellers in need. Whatever good you do, God is aware of it.'" - (Quran, 2:215)
