Alhamdulillah once again, Allah has granted us the opportunity to help warm homes & help heal the hearts of the families of the Muslim prisoners.

In its 8th year, this year with the unprecedented situation, the walk is still going to go ahead. However it will not be like previous years, where a group of all the attendees meet and walk in Hyde Park, instead HHUGS have left the decision as to where, when and how to us! 😊

So my beloved friend Umm Maryam and I have decided to come together again & relive our memorable walk from last year by walking at least 5 miles again InshaaAllah.

We will InshaAllah be walking around Finsbury Park (the actual park lol) sometime in January or February 2021 (date to be decided closer to the time InshaaAllah).

We have set a initial target of £550. We do not want our families to have to choose between "heat or eat" but we want them to be able to have funds for both biithnillah, especially during the pandemic.

Alhamdulillah I've had an absolute amazing response from amazing donors with regards to fundraising for a well for our families in Yemen, so I am positive that you will all help us reach our target to help our families here in the UK biithnillah.

WHY ARE WE WALKING IN THEIR SHOES?

Every 7 minutes one person will die this Winter. Many HHUGS families affected by detention and counter-terror measures are amongst the 2.4 million in the UK experiencing ‘fuel poverty’.
With living costs and unemployment rising, families face the hard choice to make the decision whether to ‘heat or eat’. Burdened by debts and threatened with eviction, single mothers, with their husbands behind bars, struggle to provide adequate clothing and blankets for their children to protect them from its chill.

Your donations can clothe children growing up without fathers, and warm the hearts and hearths of elderly parents isolated from their communities this winter.

You can make a difference to families for whom social distancing and isolation is a norm.
By donating:
• £40 you can provide warm bedding to protect them from the night’s chill
• £60 you can clothe children to keep them warm this Winter
• £100 you can provide warm companionship - a listening ear from a HHUGS caseworker and dedicated emotional support from our volunteer keyworkers
• £250 you can feed a family for a month so they aren’t forced to choose between heating and eating.
• £300 you can heat a home this winter
• £500 you can shelter a family by paying their rent and saving them from eviction
Together we can change lives for some of the most ostracised families in our midst.
